Elfiq has extended its primary link concept to the SitePath technology to create the PRIMARY path. The primary path is the default site-to-site path configured into your existing firewall or VPN devices.
This means NO modification to your traditional site-to-site VPN / VoIP (or any point to point) implementation.

Because Elfiq Link Balancers keep metrics and real time bandwidth usage on all links and path combinations, the SitePath technology exchanges this information using encrypted communication between the two balancers. With those metrics, it is easy to evaluate the effective bandwidth on all possible paths between to points. The effective bandwidth calculates in real time the maximum possible throughput for a specific path.
Monitoring the alternate paths and their respective effective bandwidth allows you to dynamically redirect the point to point transfert (VPN, VoIP or other) through the best available path without renegotiating the VPN tunnel or VoIP session. SitePathMTPX makes your point to point communication completely resilient best available path(s) according the selected SitePathMTPX aglorithm.

In case of a link failure , which could be the primary link, the VPN / VoIP remains up with the remaining alternate paths.
In conclusion, the SitePathMTPX technology brings resilience to a traditional Site-to-site VPN / VoIP implementation and also maximizes total throughput.
