Elfiq’s Link Balancer products enable equipment high availability and failover for models starting with the LB-1100 and higher, to ensure maximum uptime of the link balancing system. When used in high availability mode, a first Elfiq Link Balancer is designated as the “active” or “master” unit and the secondary the “passive” or “slave” unit. Both units constantly communicate information and metrics, should the “active” unit stop responding the “passive” unit takes over traffic management and continues operations normally while alerting the IT department of a troubled unit.
