"We installed an Elfiq load balancer in March of 2008. The results have been great. Our Guest access thru DSL or Cable and we have had no down time since. Also, the speed has greatly improved for the end user.
Our tech tells me that they we relatively easy to install and to manage."

Best Western Outlaw Inn
Due to increased complaints from our guest about slow internet speeds, I installed an Elfiq load balancer. We were using DSL with a 1.2mb link. We are now using this DSL link combined with a Cable link at 7.5mb. Guest complaints have been resolved. The fact that the Elfiq also provides fail-over for both links is an added bonus.
I would recommend that any Hospitality business that provides internet services use an Elfiq. The device is easy to set up and easy to monitor. Our hotel guest expect a very high level of reliability and the Elfiq helps us to provide 24/7 access to the internet and the fastest available in the area.

"Thank you for working with us to install the Elfiq Link Load Balancer back in June. Since the installation, our guest complaints have disappeared and our guest comments regarding Internet have turned from a negative to a positive. Would couldn’t be more pleased with the positive impact it has made.
We look forward to continuing this relationship and working with your company at our other properties. Thank you again for your time and effort."

"Thank you for the assistance that your team has provided. The Link Load Balancer has performed exactly as promised, combining our T1 lines with the DSL line we purchased as a low-cost "boost" to our overall HSIA offerings. I was quite pleasantly surprised to encounter no hitches or problems during the installation and everything has been exceptionally smooth since then. The added bandwidth and the flexibility of being able to add one or two more DSL lines at the last minute (as opposed to the 45-60 day turnaround of a T1 line) has provided us with a better HSIA experience for our guests and has provided me with the peace of mind that comes with knowing we are well suited to take care of any requests we might receive from incoming groups.
In addition, I wanted to thank your staff members for their assistance both during and after the upgrade. They have been instrumental in making this a painless experience and in discovering (and helping to resolve) problems we originally encountered with the DSL line. It has been a pleasure working with them, and I will continue to recommend Elfiq to any of my peers who are looking to upgrade their HSIA offerings. "

Hamilton Park Hotel and Conference Center
"I work for a conference hotel. Our business is comprised of 80% group meetings. A majority of those are computer trainings. Prior to the installation of the Elfiq, I was constantly moving T1s around. On Fridays I would move our existing T’s to cover the meeting space where the anticipated loads would be for the following week. With wireless access, the loads would often move to unanticipated locations or last minute client changes would always come back to haunt. Needless to say, I started looking for a simpler way to accomplish this.
Many of our T1s are provided by our clientele, so I had no choice over vendors or IP configurations. Not to mention using their own T’s tied them directly to the web without any firewalls (you’d be amazed how many ‘seasoned travelers’ have little or no protection on their laptops). My first venture was to try to combine these T’s through BGP. What a nightmare. Two and half months went by with very little progress. I could never get all parties on the same page.
By this time I was needing a way to get bandwidth to my entire hotel, a way to access all available IPs, a way to protect all my clientele behind a firewall, and a quick way to add and subtract T1's that my clients were providing. That was when I was introduced to the Elfiq. On paper it looked to be what I was after. I contacted them through their website. Quickly decided on the size of unit (a timely sales promotion helped in the decision). Their engineers contacted me quickly and programmed it prior to sending it out. My first three needs were met almost immediately. The load balancing was actually monitored for several days to figure out the best strategy for our usage. My final need was met while the unit was still in it’s first two weeks of operation as I added two additional T1’s. One call back to support and the new T1s were up and running in a matter of minutes. The Elfiq Link Load Balancer was exactly what I was looking for. It met all my needs and has performed better and easier than advertised. I can’t give this unit enough praise. "

"The Elfiq products have enabled us to add large amounts of bandwidth at a fraction of the traditional cost while maintaining a reliable HSIA network. We have improved guest scores, have redundancy, and happy guests. . . what else can I ask for?"
"Hersha Hospitality has been using Elfiq load balancing products for over six months. We have fallen in love with the Elfiq products and service. Elfiq not only provides an excellent product to meet increasing guest bandwidth needs, their staff also go above and beyond from the start of the sales process, through implementation, and for support. Hersha plans to continue to deploy the Elfiq products throughout our hotels in 2008."

"The Elfiq solution also gave the hotel redundant internet connections by using different providers for the bandwidth connections (the load balancing technology automatically reroutes traffic if a link fails or is temporarily out of service). The total solution was implemented in under three weeks as opposed to 4-6 weeks for a typical T-1 solution.
By utilizing the products and services available to the property, the hotel was able to bring money back down to the bottom-line while insuring they will continue to meet guest’s growing demands."

Thayer Lodging Group
"Located in the vibrant heart of downtown Bethesda, Maryland, the Doubletree Hotel Bethesda contains 269 newly-renovated guest rooms and suites, and over 15,000 square feet of meeting space. The Hotel was in need of a vast amount of bandwidth at a relatively low cost, in order to be the premier hotel in the Washington/DC market. To overcome that challenge, we implemented the Elfiq link load balancer to bring together a DS-3, plus two 7.1Mb DSL circuits, giving the hotel a combined amount of downstream bandwidth of almost 60Mb/s. The Elfiq box is able to regulate our priority VPN and email traffic through the dedicated DS-3 and be able to send non-priority traffic over the DSL circuits. By doing so, we can have a level of guarantee for all important and essential levels of traffic.
In all, the Elfiq technology has done everything we needed it to do."

"As increased internet usage continues to escalate exponentially putting a strain on limited bandwidth, customer speed and connectivity expectations were not being met.
As we were in 2 to 3 year contracts for our data connections and a T-1 was no longer enough and a banded T-1 was to pricey, we looked at other options. We tried bandwidth shapers and it helped to a degree, however it did not truly balance the usage. Our Telecommunications Consultant, Trevor Warner, Warner Consulting Group, informed us of the Elfiq load balancer. We demoed it at our newly renovated Doubletree - Annapolis, MD with instant success.
... Our guest satisfaction scores have increased and support call volume with our guest support vendor cut down significantly.
We have added additional Elfiq Link Load Balancers. ... Elfiq assisted us in the installation and held our hand through the entire installation process. They continue to follow up with us, post installation to ensure proper deployment and functionality.
Elfiq works and allows us to continue to add any additional data sources (T-1, SDSL, cable, satellite, etc.) of any type as our guest's bandwidth needs continue to increase."

"I'm pleased to provide a reference for your company's internet load balancer. Despite having a full T-1 available to serve our 98 room hotel, guest complaints concerning lack of bandwidth were growing. Many of our Guests work in telecom and seem to travel with all the latest technology 'toys'.
We were faced with adding an additionnal T-1 at a cost of more than 500$ per month and possibly still not solving the problem. By adding your appliance we were able to add only a DSL circuit to the existing T1 and solve the problem for good. My estimation is that the payback on this purchase will be less than 6 months.
I recommend this solution to any hotel that has outgrown its current bandwidth. We plan to add it to several more of our hotels."

"Thank you for introducing me to the Elfiq Load Balancer. This appliance has been a terrific addition to our guest internet experience.
The Load Balancer has allowed us to use a traditional T1 and a large bandwidth DSL together to provide greater bandwidth to our guests at a much better price than bonding several T1s together or bringing in a DS3 circuit. Our current configuration delivers 7 Mbps for downloading at a considerably lower monthly cost then five T1s. I project that our return on investment period will be less than one year.
Our current configuration leverages the Elfiq Load Balancer to route our guests' Virtual Private Network connections over the T1 to provide both an individual public IP address and the latency free benefits of the T1. We route all other traffic (email, SlingBox, web, Skype, etc.) over the DSL.
I have observed a reduction in guest complaints regarding bandwidth and VPN connections.
We are planning to add another large bandwidth DSL to our offering in the first quarter of 2007, and I will be able to deliver over 12 Mbps to our guests for less monthly than the cost of two T1s. Bandwidth at this level will give us a competitive advantage over other hotels in the market, and give us the ability to deliver an improved quality of service to our guests for both business and personal applications."
